Because pregnant women tend to have problems with bloating and water retention, it used to be quite common for them to be advised to limit their salt intake during pregnancy. Recently however, many pregnant women are finding that their doctors are advising them to make sure they continue to ingest a reasonable amount of salt on a regular basis. Thanks in part to recent research, finding out how much salt is good in pregnancy can be more easily accomplished.

While outright increasing your salt intake during pregnancy can lead to an increase in blood pressure, it does not necessarily affect the onset of preeclampsia. Preeclampsia is a condition in which the pregnant woman’s blood pressure is suddenly and dramatically increased during the latter half of a pregnancy. This is an extremely dangerous condition, and is one of the main causes of mother and infant mortality in the developed world. Unfortunately, the only way to deal with preeclampsia is to deliver the child early.

For many years, it was thought that preeclampsia could be averted by drastically reducing salt intake during pregnancy, but more recent research has shown that the opposite is in fact true. Preeclampsia is caused when blood vessels leak salt into other tissues. This problem is exacerbated when too little salt is ingested, because what salt there is goes to the wrong place. So, the new thinking is that women who are at risk for preeclampsia might be able to avert it by making sure they consume at least a normal amount of salt. If you wish to find out exactly how much salt is safe for you, be sure to discuss your concerns with your doctor.

Determining how much salt is good during your pregnancy can partly be accomplished by listening to your body. Many pregnant women experience serious salt cravings, and it’s generally all right to indulge those cravings while exercising moderation. If your salt intake during pregnancy is too high, you will probably start retaining water, and experience swelling and bloating. In any case, be sure to drink a lot of water, and if the swelling becomes intolerable, adjust your salt intake accordingly.

As with so many things surrounding pregnancy, moderation seems to be the key. If you should find yourself at risk for preeclampsia due to your age or genetics, it’s especially important for you to talk to your doctor about what you can do to decrease your risk factors. She may or may not advise you to adjust your salt intake, but keep in mind that the old thinking about eliminating salt intake during pregnancy is no longer necessarily valid.

How much salt is good during pregnancy will probably vary by each individual, and you may need to do a bit of experimenting to determine what your tolerances are. If you have a craving, it’s okay to indulge it, within reason. Just make sure that you remain comfortable and that you feel healthy. If you have doubts at any point, be sure to consult your doctor.

Preeclampsia is a condition where a pregnant woman has high blood pressure and high levels of protein in her urine. Preeclampsia affects only pregnant women and their fetuses following the twentieth week of pregnancy.

Preeclampsia can develop into eclampsia, a condition where the mother would have seizures. While rare, other complications for the mother include stroke, rupture of the liver, bleeding problems, and premature separation of the placenta from the uterus prior to birth.

The only cure for preeclampsia is to give birth.

It is common that women who are diagnosed with preeclampsia do not feel like anything is wrong. Some preeclampsia symptoms include:

Pains in the abdominal area

Urinating less than normal

Weight gain more than two pounds per week

Rapid weight gain over a few days

Persistent dull, throbbing headaches

Nausea and vomiting

Vision problems

Women with a history of preeclampsia are more at risk for more severe versions of the condition for later pregnancies.

Risk factors for preeclampsia include obesity, being older than 35, and a past history of kidney disease, high blood pressure, or diabetes. Women who are pregnant for the first time, or who carry more than one child at a time, are more at risk for preeclampsia.

While there is no known cause for preeclampsia, experts believe that possible causes include diet, genes, blood vessel problems, and autoimmune disorders.

Here’s some important preeclampsia information if you think you might be suffering from preeclampsia: the prognosis for preeclampsia is often good. The effects of preeclampsia often dissipate within six weeks post-birth.

However, if untreated, preeclampsia can be fatal to both the mother and child. Death of the mother is extremely rare in the U.S. The infant’s chances are directly related on the severity of the condition and how prematurely the child is born.

Since expecting mothers are under regular car from doctors, preeclampsia is often spotted with plenty of time and is treated with bed rest, reduced salt intake, drinking plenty of water, and possibly taking medication to lower blood pressure.

Preeclampsia is also called pregnancy-induced hypertension, toxemia of pregnancy, or acute hypertensive disease of pregnancy. Preeclampsia acts as a disorder that occurs during pregnancy, which is related to pregnancy-induced hypertension. Characterized by high blood pressure and the presence of protein in the urine, preeclampsia usually occurs after the 20th week of pregnancy. Sometimes referred to as pregnancy toxemia, preeclampsia can range from mild to severe. Without proper care and management, preeclampsia can cause a number of serious health complications, including preterm labor, seizures, and even death.

The hypertension component of Preeclampsia is present when the systolic blood pressure is greater than 140 mm Hg or the diastolic blood pressure is greater than 90 mm Hg in a woman known to be normotensive prior to pregnancy. The diagnosis requires 2 such abnormal blood pressure measurements recorded at least 6 hours apart.

Causes of Preeclampsia

The precise cause of Preeclampsia is unknown. But there are some causes which will increase the risk of suffering Preeclampsia. These causes include:

1, Having chronic hypertension (high blood pressure before becoming pregnant)
2, Having diabetes, kidney disease, rheumatoid arthritis, lupus (SLE), or scleroderma
3, Having developed high blood pressure or preeclampsia during a previous pregnancy (especially if these conditions occurred early in the pregnancy).
4, Being obese prior to pregnancy
5, Being pregnant under the age of 20 or over the age of 40
6, Being pregnant with more than one baby
7, Insufficient blood flow to the uterus
8, Damage to the blood vessels
9, A problem with the immune system
10,Poor diet

People who are at the risk of Preeclampsia

Preeclampsia occurs in 5% to 8% of all pregnancies in the United States. Though any pregnant women can develop preeclampsia, the vast majority of sufferers are women experiencing their first pregnancies.

Other risk factors [http://www.coolbl.com/2008/07/09/how-to-prevent-and-cure-gestational-diabetes/] area also known to increase your chances of developing the condition, including:

1, having a personal history of preeclampsia (in a previous pregnancy)
2, having a family history of preeclampsia (mother or sister developed it)
3, being obese
4, being teenager or a women over the age of 40
5, having a history of high blood pressure
6, experiencing a multiple pregnancy
7, suffering from an autoimmune disorder (such as Lupus or Multiple Sclerosis)

How to recognize Preeclampsia

The most common symptoms of preeclampsia are:
1, High blood pressure
2, Excessive swelling in hands, face and other parts of your body
3, Abdominal pain
4, Large amounts of protein in your urine
5, Small amounts of urine
6, Blood in your urine
7, Severe headaches
8, Vomiting blood
9, Dizziness
10 Fever
11 Double vision
12 Blurred vision
13 Rapid weight gain (more than 2 pounds per week)
14 Nausea and vomiting

How Preeclampsia can affect you and your baby

There are vast majority of preeclampsia sufferers who experienced only mild symptoms, but some pregnant women can develop severe preeclampsia. When severe, preeclampsia can create a number of health complications for mom:

1, increased risk of stroke (due to high blood pressure)
2, kidney and liver dysfunction
3, eclampsia (a condition which causes the development of seizures)
4, HELLP syndrome (the most severe form or preeclampsia)

Preeclampsia, if left untreated, it can lead to abruptio placenta, cerebral hemorrhage, cerebral vascular accident, acute renal failure, and intrauterine growth restrictions for the fetus.

1, Intrauterine Growth Restriction – Due to high blood pressure levels and narrow uterine arteries, blood flow to your placenta can become restricted. This means that your baby will receive less oxygen and nutrients while in the womb. As a result, your baby may not develop properly or could be born with a low birthweight.

2, Acidosis – If your baby does not receive enough oxygen from the placenta, he will begin extracting oxygen from fuel stores in his body. This produces a toxic byproduct known as lactic acid. If this lactic acid builds up to high levels, it can result in acidosis, which can render your baby unconscious.

3, Preterm Birth

The biggest complication of Preeclampsia is preterm birth. Because preeclampsia can become dangerous for both mother and baby, it is sometimes necessary to deliver baby before 36 weeks. This can result in possible developmental problems and even fetal death.

Treatment for Preeclampsia

1, Allow frequent monitoring of both you and your baby by your doctor. When a woman has been diagnosed with preeclampsia, it’s very important to monitor the situation closely. Monitoring includes frequent ultrasounds, biophysical profiles, non-stress tests, blood pressure checks, weigh-ins for the mom and checking the amount of protein present in the mom’s urine.

2, Go on bed rest, either at home or in the hospital, if it’s too early to deliver the baby. For mild cases of preeclampsia, bed rest at home can be indicated. Bed rest helps increase blood flow to the baby and helps lower the mom’s blood pressure. In cases of severe preeclampsia, bed rest at the hospital is likely. Being at the hospital can allow for closer monitoring of both the mom and the baby.

3, Take medications prior to delivery to help with preeclampsia. Corticosteroids can help mature the baby’s lungs in case early delivery occurs. Taking drugs, such as hydralazine, can help lower the mom’s blood pressure and prevent preeclampsia from progressing. Your personal doctor will know which medications are best for you and your baby.

4, Deliver the baby. Delivery is the only real cure for preeclampsia. If the baby is at or near full term and a woman is diagnosed with preeclampsia, labor may be immediately induced or a caesarean section scheduled. If it’s too early to deliver the baby, doctors may try to hold off delivery using the other treatments described in this article until delivery is absolutely necessitated.

5, Use the drug magnesium sulfate during labor and delivery. For women with preeclampsia, magnesium sulfate can help prevent seizures in the mom during delivery and help increase blood flow to the baby and the placenta. IVs are often used to administer magnesium sulfate to the mom during delivery.

Tips:
Depending on the disease severity, the management varies. There have been several nonpharmacological therapies shown to be helpful in the prevention or, at the least, the progression of preeclampsia. “Eight milligrams of baby aspirin can be of some benefit to the at-risk mother as well as 2 grams of calcium daily,” says Atlas. Women should avoid taking vitamin E while pregnant because of the higher risk of developing preeclampsia, Atlas adds.

Preeclampsia is a serious health disorder that affects the minority of pregnant women. It is usually pronounced during second trimester and third trimester in pregnancy. This disease is very deadly and associated with many signs and symptoms of which the majority is very silent in nature.

The main and first symptom of preeclampsia is hypertension. Hypertension means increase in the blood pressure. The degree of blood pressure in pregnant women varies. High increase in the blood pressure imposes is the first symptom of Preeclampsia in pregnant women.

Increase in the urinary protein is one of the symptoms related to Preeclampsia. Urine is an end product of filtration of the kidney during deamination. When the kidney becomes severely affected, ultra filtration of the products of digestion is impaired. Kidney functionality determines the amount of urine produced per body stream. Deamination is the bodily process where amino groups are removed from excess proteins. It happens most often in the liver and kidneys. It allows the system to convert excess amino acids to soluble carbon and hydrogen. Deamination plays important role in the removal of nitrogenous waste from the body. Amino groups discarded as a result of the process are converted into ammonia, which is later expelled from the body through urination. Improper function of the kidney causes protein to flow into the urine and causes health problem.

Changes in reflex and nervous system are another factor. The nervous system coordinated the body system and its functionality. The nervous system controls and coordinates all our actions as humans as all the body systems are connected to each other. Preeclampsia affects the central nervous system which results to severe headache, impaired vision, partial and sometimes total blindness.

Abdominal Pains as a result of liver malfunction. The liver being a vital organ in the body plays important role in digestion. This is specifically connected to protein and amino acids stability. Through deamination and detoxication of protein, the liver gets rid of nitrogenous waste products that are not excreted by the kidney from the blood stream.

Another symptom of Preeclampsia in pregnant women if drastic gain in body weight. This gain in weight results from accumulation of body fluid around the waste. As the fluid increases in accumulation, the weight also increases.

The body malfunction due to Preeclampsia also causes swollen of feet, legs, face and hands. These swollen are common during the third trimester in pregnancy and sometimes being neglected during the diagnoses of Preeclampsia. It becomes a risk factor when the swollen becomes abnormal.

Preeclampsia causes absence or reduced urinal output. As the functionality of the kidney and he liver are affected, it drastically affect the volume of urine produced.

Dizziness, nausea and excess vomiting are all symptoms of preeclampsia. The baby gets daily normal protein nourishment from blood supplied through the placenta from the mother. Insufficient supply of this blood stream to the unborn child results to poor body growth and development.

Preeclampsia is a dreadful and killer disease which should not be taken for granted as most of these symptoms are silent in nature and causes much complication before being diagnosed. If affects both mother and unborn child. Adequate measures should be taken in getting rid of it diagnosed for the safety of both parties involved.

What is preeclampsia? It is a syndrome that occurs in pregnant women who are hypertensive, that is, those who have high blood pressure. They get swollen legs and a considerable amount of protein spillage into their urine. They may even get convulsions, particularly in the second part of the pregnancy.

Preeclampsia is also known as pregnancy-induced hypertension or toxemia. It is more common in women who are pregnant for the first time and those pregnant by a new husband. However, a second or third pregnancy does not guarantee a preeclampsia-free term. According to a study in Aberdeen, Scotland, almost 1 in 150 women who has had a normal blood pressure during their first pregnancy can get preeclampsia during their second.

The risk is heightened for those who have previously experienced high blood pressure and women who also suffered from preeclampsia before the third trimester.

A family history of diabetes is also cause for concern; women whose sisters, mothers, aunts or grandmothers got preeclampsia should also be careful. Moreover, the possibility of getting preeclampsia increases relative to the woman’s age; the older she is, the higher the risk, particularly if the woman is over 40. However, early pregnancies are just as at risk as late ones. Teenage mothers–girls younger than 18–are not exempt.

Other significant factors that may complicate a pregnancy and induce preeclampsia are ovarian cysts, lupus and arthritis. Women who do not have or have never had the aforementioned illnesses should not be so complacent. If symptoms of preeclampsia start manifesting, they should consult their doctor straightaway.

While pregnant women feel all sorts of sensations that are common for their delicate situation, there are certain occurrences that may point to preeclampsia. All these symptoms should never be ignored:

- Frequent dizziness and drowsiness.

- Getting massive headaches.

- Unbearable nausea.

- Hearing incessant buzzing or ringing.

- Throwing up blood.

- Frequent and prolonged vomiting.

- Getting impossibly swollen feet and hands.

- Seldom urinating or not at all.

- Having blood mixed in the urine.

- Irregular, rapid heartbeat.

- Having a high fever.

- Getting blurred or double vision.

- Sudden loss of vision.

It is important to be on the guard because the exact causes of preeclampsia is largely unknown. It does not have one easily identifiable cause, and there is not one test that diagnoses the problem.

When women go to the doctor, the first thing their doctor will do is to take their blood pressure. A large rise is indicative of preeclampsia. Urine tests are performed to measure the protein in the urine. A blood test may also be done. If the woman is exhibiting signs of preeclampsia, the doctor will want to conduct checkups at least once every week, if not every day.

What preeclampsia does is to hinder blood going to the placenta, which is what provides air and food to the baby. Less blood in the placenta means less air and food for the baby, thus a low weight for the newborn.

A good advice to keep in mind for pregnant women is to control their blood pressure. When one is not pregnant, the way to do this is to cut down on her salt intake. If one is however pregnant, the body will need the salt to aid in the flow of fluids. Doctors may recommend aspirin and calcium for preeclampsia prevention or tell women to lie on their left side while taking rest.

If preeclampsia does occur in one pregnancy, it does not entirely spell doom for the mother and child. Women can still deliver babies with perfect health but it is rare. So all these precautions are advisable and will prove that mothers know best if they do heed both the warnings and preventive measures.

Preeclampsia during pregnancy is a clinical syndrome or group of symptoms. The symptoms include hypertension, legs that are swollen, convulsions which will happen on the second period of the pregnancy duration. There will be greater risk to those who have a history of high blood pressure and also those who have history of past preeclampsia on or before the third last trimester of pregnancy.

Another term for preeclampsia is pregnancy- induced hypertension or sometimes referred to as toxemia. Toxemia is common for the first time pregnant women and also those who have never been pregnant. However, there is really no specific time wherein one cannot or can have pregnancy induced hypertension during her pregnancy. There will be greater risk to those who have a history of high blood pressure and also those who have history of past preeclampsia on or before the third last trimester of pregnancy.

There are other significant factors that can contribute to preeclampsia during pregnancy. Arthritis, lupus and ovarian cysts are also significant factors which may affect the whole pregnancy duration and might lead to preeclampsia in pregnancy. There will be greater risk to those who have a history of high blood pressure and also those who have history of past preeclampsia on or before the third last trimester of pregnancy. On the other hand pregnant women who do not have the factors listed must not be so complacent because there are times that there will be nor risk factors but preeclampsia could still happen.

The following are the symptoms of preeclampsia: massive headaches, drowsiness and dizziness, nausea and vomiting, buzzing on the ears, feet and hands that are swollen, urinary frequency or no urine at all, rapid heartbeat, loss of vision and sometimes high grade fever. For the stated symptoms you should be cautious enough and be able to be alert enough to know the symptoms involved and go to the medical specialist right away for proper intervention.

When there will be a preeclampsia in pregnancy this does not mean that you will totally be in danger, but you just have to be cautious enough and be mindful about the things you need to know for the proper intervention to be done. However, there is really no specific time wherein one cannot or can have pregnancy induced hypertension during her pregnancy. There will be greater risk to those who have a history of high blood pressure and also those who have history of past preeclampsia on or before the third last trimester of pregnancy.

Preeclampsia is also known as toxemia in pregnancy or simply toxemia. This condition affects any pregnant woman who either has pre-existing hypertension or chronic hypertension. Some with illness can also be affected with this condition, like those with polycystic ovarian syndrome. The condition raises your blood pressure and gives you urine that has traces of protein, which is not normal. Nausea and vomiting can also occur when you have this condition. However, the effects it can give you and your baby’s life is really dangerous and scary.

But any pregnant woman even with or without polycystic ovarian syndrome can get rid of this condition. By merely making sure that you are doing the right and proper ways during your pregnancy life, along with the advice of your health team, prevention of this condition is possible.

If you are pregnant and if you have an existing condition like polycystic ovarian syndrome, better visit your health care provider immediately. In this event the prevention of any complication and proper treatment of your disease is done, thus increasing the chances of continuing your pregnancy and delivering your baby in a successful way.

Aside from the advice for prevention and proper treatment and management of your PCOS, the physician may require you to undergo blood pressure monitoring to observe your blood pressure levels. High blood pressure is noted to be present in preeclampsia. However, other diagnostic tests like kidney and liver function tests are also done as a preventive measure against this condition. Blood clotting factors are also tested to determine probable causes of preeclampsia.

Moreover, the most essential preventive measure not only to this condition but also in many complications of pregnancy is weight reduction. Studies have shown that obesity plays a major role in the development of different complications of pregnancy, and one of this is eclampsia. Obesity can increase your chance of having hormonal imbalances as well as blood pressure increase.

Balanced diet to promote a good glucose control is also advised. If there is an excess glucose, chances of developing gestational diabetes and preeclampsia is also possible. In the event that there is an increase in glucose, the chances of having hormonal imbalances in the blood stream may be present, thus leading you in developing this condition. The doctor may let you observed your diet. Your diet should contain nutritious and delicious fruits and vegetables, provided with a minimal amount of sugar and salt.

Physical activity can also help you in reducing your chance of developing preeclampsia. Just do simple walking and swimming, and it would be very helpful, especially if you do it along with those mentioned above. Preeclampsia does not only cause you to have seizure episodes, but the possibility to lose your baby can also happen if you are not in control of your disease and your pregnancy.

Irregular menstrual cycles are a source of frustration and worry for many women. If you are among them you know that having to deal with unexpected bleeding (often at the worst possible times) can be a huge headache. Add to this worry over whether you will be able to become pregnant, should and when you desire to have children, and there can be a lot of emotional energy attached to this problem. In this article we look at whether acupuncture can provide a drug-free, hormone-free, natural approach to treat this problem.

Sometimes an otherwise healthy woman has menstrual cycles which are scattered all over the calendar. One month her period will be long, another month it will be short. Sometimes she may skip a period entirely. She may have light spotting a couple of times a month. Serious menstrual cramping may be involved.

The Medical Approach
The approach of “western medicine” to menstrual cycle regulation is typically a one-size-fits-all approach. No matter what the menstrual irregularity the go-to approach is often hormone therapy, typically in the form of birth control pills. The pills take over the job your body should naturally be performing in regulating the menstrual cycle.

The medical approach ignores the underlying cause of the irregular hormone levels the body is creating. The problem may clear up on its own, or it may not. With the pills masking the symptoms it is not possible to know either way. Meanwhile a woman may experience side-effects from the pill such as weight gain, decreased sexual desire, mood changes, and increased risk of certain diseases.

The Acupuncture Approach
Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine look at health a different way. All disease, including irregular menstrual cycles, come from some form of functional imbalance. This makes sense to most people immediately. If the function of one or more systems in the body are insufficient, or are working overtime, true health will be elusive.

This understanding puts the one-size-fits-all approach into perspective. One can create functional balance only by first understanding what is out of balance. Here is where acupuncture really shines. An acupuncturist will take time to understand exactly what is happening in the patient’s body. Only with a clear and correct understanding of the imbalance is there a hope to set things right and bring the body’s systems back into balance.

When an imbalance is occurring acupuncture provides a powerful way to set it right. Periods that are always too long can be shortened when the underlying imbalance is addressed. Cycles that are too short (say, 21 days long) can be lengthened when that imbalance is corrected. Heavy cramping during the menstrual period can be addressed in this way as well.

Acupuncture provides a way to make these specific adjustments in the body without drugs or surgery. Through acupuncture the body can be given a clear signal that helps bring it back to homeostasis and that state we call health.

Doctors find that when the issue of perimenopause enters a woman’s life, many women worry about pregnancy. They worry about if they can still become pregnant, either because they would still like to have children or because they would like to make sure they don’t get pregnant by accident.

Perimenopause and pregnancy are an interesting pair. On the one hand, women have a decreased chance of becoming pregnant because their periods tend to be irregular (due to the hormonal imbalances), and on the other hand, they’re at a higher risk for having an unexpected pregnancy because they don’t know when their hormones will suddenly trigger the body to begin ovulating again.

The first situation posed by perimenopause and pregnancy, that of having a decreased chance of becoming pregnant may upset some women. It is especially upsetting in this age when perimenopause can begin at 35. Sometimes women have not had the chance to have a child yet, and then their body kicks into perimenopause.

If you are in this situation, do not lose hope. A lot of women have gotten pregnant during their perimenopause years., which means you can too! If irregular periods is one of your symptoms, there are natural treatments you can try in order to regulate your period and increase your chances of becoming pregnant. Usually this treatment involves a change in diet, and healthy exercise. Sometimes doctors prescribe eating or drinking soy products, soy being a plant product that mimics estrogen.

Through natural treatments, many women have been able to reduce their perimenopause symptoms, as well as have a normal pregnancy. Some even claim that their symptoms completely disappeared and the perimenopause problem was reversed. If you would still like to have a child, make it clear to your doctors that this is part of the goal when addressing your perimenopause, and they should be able to help you find a natural treatment that your body will respond to.

Next, the opposite situation posed by perimenopause and pregnancy is that of not wanting to become pregnant, but being afraid of the fact that your period (and ovulation) is unpredictable. The best way to address this problem is to try and regulate the periods. Again, natural treatments can work and give you a better chance of keeping track of your period, which will help you prevent an unexpected pregnancy.

If natural methods do not work, you can also try using low dose birth control pills. These pills, though originally designed as contraceptives, are actually a form of perimenopause treatment because it tries to regulate your hormones in order to give you a regular monthly cycle, as well as alleviate some of your other symptoms. It is definitely an option you should look into if natural methods do not work well enough for you.

The issue of perimenopause and pregnancy is quite important for many women. It is something women need to know and understand so that they can be aware of what options they have, no matter what it is exactly they want to do.

Understand everything you need to know about perimenopause! Learn about your symptoms and how surviving perimenopause is something women do everyday. With a little help and knowledge, it could be some of the best learning years of your life!

People who are trying to conceive a boy baby often contact me and ask me for the best sexual positions or timing to make sure they have a son. I often hear comments like “My ovulation period is coming up and I want to make sure that I do everything right. What is the best way to have intercourse to conceive a boy baby?” I will answer this question in the following article both in terms of sexual positions and the timing of the intercourse.

First, Here’s One Consideration That Doesn’t Relate To Intercourse: I’m going to be going over three considerations in this article, but only two of them have any thing to do with sex (which I will get to shortly.) But, the first variable has to do with your acidity and pH. If you want a boy, you can’t afford to be too acidic. The reason for this is that an acidic environment isn’t conducive to the Y sperm chromosomes that are more likely to give you boy babies. So it’s in your best interest to check your acidity with PH testing strips and then tweak as needed by altering your diet or using the appropriate douches. Now, onto intercourse considerations.

When You’re Trying To Conceive A Boy Baby, It’s Important To Have Intercourse At The Right Time: It makes no sense to use the perfect boy making sexual position only to do so at the precisely the wrong time. If have sex too soon or before ovulation, you risk those Y sperm I mentioned before dying off because they don’t live as long as the X or girl producing sperm. If you wanted a girl, you would have a longer window in which to have sex. But, since you want a boy, it’s best to use restraint and wait until after ovulation. You can tell the time is right by using a good ovulation predictor. You want to wait until after you get a distinct and undeniable positive reading. This gives those vulnerable Y’s the best time chance because the window of time is shorter, which is better for them.

Use The Best Intercourse Positions That Give You The Best Chance Of Conceiving A Boy: Above, I have addressed two variables that are necessary because of the vulnerability of the Y or boy producing sperm. The intercourse positions that are best for a boy conception also address this vulnerability. That’s why it’s advisable to use deep penetration when you have intercourse or sex. This gives those sperm less distance to travel which is just one more thing to give them a slight advantage.

When we discuss deep penetration, most people will assume that what is meant by this are positions such as: the missionary position with raised or lifted legs; rear entry; or using pillows to prop under the woman’s pelvis or hips to get the best angle for your favorite position. And, all of these are fair game and can work very well. But, it’s important that you determine which of these works best for you as a couple. (What works best for you may not be any of these.) This is going to depend on many variables like the build and physical attributes of you and your partner.

The real goal is the place the sperm as close as you can to the woman’s cervix so that the sperm has less distance to travel (and hopefully has much less difficulties since you’ve made the environment alkaline rather than acidic.) This is unique to every couple and it doesn’t hurt to experiment before it’s actually time to conceive.

Intercourse to get pregnant is a topic considered by many couples wanting to have a baby. However the topic seems to be more important to women than men and even more important to women who are struggling to get pregnant.

For such women most things that will help them get pregnant is welcome. Therefore the topic of intercourse to get pregnant is relevant to many couples.

If you are one of these women who want to get pregnant quickly or you are struggling to get pregnant, you will gain more understanding of how to get pregnant quickly by the time you finish reading the article.

In trying to get pregnant, any method that ensures that the sperm gets to meet the egg inside the woman is a good method or position. Fertilization often occurs at the upper end of the fallopian tube where the egg is usually positioned after being released.

Considering the above, the best position to have intercourse to get pregnant will be that one that will place the sperm next to the egg right up in the fallopian tube. But this is not possible naturally. No position can physically achieve that and no man is possibly endowed in that ways to be able to deposit his sperms right up the fallopian tube.

Consequently, any best position that may help to get the sperms closer to the egg would have to rely, probably on gravity. However, the general consensus seems to be that sperms can swim up the birth canal to where the egg is waiting to be fertilized on their own without the help of gravity. This then makes looking for a great position to deliver the sperm closer to the egg unnecessary.

Actually, whether there is such a position as best position to have intercourse to get pregnant or not is open to debate. What makes sense, however, is anything at all that a couple would do which may aid the sperm to get to its destination quickly might not be considered a waste of time. As a result some couple who are hoping to get pregnant would place a couple of pillows under the woman’s hips while lying on her back.

It has also been said that being highly aroused during intercourse can help conception. This again is common sense really as the mutual arousal galvanizes the whole process better and a lot of energy is put into the love making. This can impact on the projection speed at which the sperms are released and the woman may be more receptive this way.

The biological fact is that to get pregnant, a woman must be fertile, that is, she must be ovulating to get pregnant. It does not matter what great position the couple adopts while engaging in sexual intercourse. If the woman is not fertile she won’t get pregnant.

Thus intercourse to get pregnant may depend more on finding out when the woman is most fertile and then time the intercourse to coincide with this period rather than looking for some best position to have intercourse to get pregnant.

Probably one of the questions that go through the mind of couples when they are expecting a baby is how could they be able to have sexual intercourse without causing harm to the development of the baby inside the maternal womb? Nine months of abstinence from sex is simply unimaginable for those couples who are sexually active. If you want my recommendation for the best sexual positions when you are expecting a baby, I’d first start of with the alternatives. The alternative to sex is the best way to derive satisfaction without fear or guilt that you might have disturbed the fragile thing inside the womb. The alternatives to sex are oral sex which could be fellatio or cunnilingus. In performing cunnilingus, just make sure that you don’t blow inside the vagina. You can also try masturbation.

Sometimes, these alternatives are not simply enough and the couple would want to take it all the way. Therefore, it is here where they should utilize the correct pregnancy intercourse positions. There are different positions to choose from. And whatever position you tow have decided, the primary consideration should be the comfort of the pregnant woman. If the woman is comfortable during the act, then most probably the child is safe inside. Just be very careful when performing those tiresome positions like rear entry, woman on top positions, sitting positions. Do this only if you are very sure that you can carry and control yourself. The best positions on the list would be the spooning position and the sideways position.

A good intercourse position for pregnant women is comfortable, safe, and enjoyable. Always keep that in mind, and do your best to keep pressure off the women’s stomach. The women on top position is very good for this.

Pregnancy is a very delicate, sensitive, and sometimes even crazy time of a woman’s life. Due to raised hormone levels, it can also mean you’re hunger for sex is far more than normal. If you’re going to have sex during your pregnancy, which I would highly recommend, it’s important you talk to your OBGYN or licensed physician first.

Having frequent sex seems like the most obvious approach to having a baby. Conceiving does not involve more than this if you have a clean bill of reproductive health, but there are times when you might need to use certain sex positions to get pregnant faster. In order to conceive right away, sex has to be timed perfectly to coincide with your most fertile period. Additionally, the sperm needs to be deposited as close to the cervix as possible so that they don’t travel a very long journey to the egg. While Western medicine has not found a relationship between the sex positions you use and your chances of conceiving, it won’t hurt to give gravity an edge, would it? Here are some of the best sex positions for baby-making intercourse, whether you want a boy or a girl.

Missionary position: a traditional baby-making pose
The missionary position or the man-on-top-position is not only pleasurable for both partners; the higher the woman raises her legs, the deeper the penetration and the closer the sperm gets to the cervix. After intercourse, let your hips rest on a small pillow to help the sperm swim up to the cervix. It’s important that the pillow be small; otherwise, the sperm might end up in a puddle at the back of your cervix, far from where the egg is. Stay lying down for at least five minutes.

Rear entry for optimal sperm and egg rendezvous chances
The rear entry position also allows deep penetration, especially if you have an inverted uterus. There are many variations of the rear entry position, with the most popular being the “doggy-style”. In this position, the woman goes on her hands and knees while her partner enters from behind. The position where the woman lies flat on her belly is also great for conceiving, especially if the hips are supported with a small pillow.

Lying side by side for conception sex comfort
The “spooning” position where both partners lie side by side is also a good position for conceiving. It’s a very relaxing position that doesn’t put too much strain on either partner, and it’s great for partners who suffer from back pain or are overweight.

Sex positions to avoid when trying to conceive
Fertility experts suggest avoiding sex positions where gravity might work against you, such as the woman on top position or any standing position. These positions might make it harder for the sperm to reach the egg. If you really must use the woman on top position, spend some time lying on your back after intercourse to give the sperm an edge.

Sex positions for conception of a boy or a girl
Did you know that the sex position you use can also increase your chances of having a boy or girl? Sperm carry the genetic code for our sex organs; the male sperm are fast-moving but die quickly, while the female sperm are slow-moving but live longer. If you want to conceive a baby girl, schedule intercourse three days before ovulation and use positions that have shallower penetration, like the spooning position. This will let the male sperm die out so the female sperm can reach the egg. If you want to conceive a baby boy, have sex the same day you ovulate or the day after. This leaves the slow-moving female sperm behind and lets the male sperm win the race to the egg.
